Skin abrasion

A special abrasion tool will remove the surface layer of the skin, similarly as with the laser therapy treatment. Deeper skin layers, sweat glands, hair follicles, pigment cells and small blood vessels will remain undamaged. After the procedure a thin layer of medicament or gel is placed on the skin and it is combined with the liquid coming out of the wound which improves and speeds up the healing process. A scab is then formed over the wound, which will fall off after the formation of the new skin or after roughly 4 to 8 days. The success of this method depends on the structure of the skin. If the treated skin is thicker, better result is achieved. Six weeks after the procedure, the skin should not be exposed to ultraviolet rays. The procedure lasts for approximately 30 minutes.
