If you want to be evaluated for allergies
- Call for MD appointment (401-331-9690) to determine if you might have allergies and if testing is appropriate and safe. If necessary, alternative measures are available.
- If allergy testing is advised, you will receive an explanation of allergies, skin testing and a detailed questionnaire so that the allergy nurse can better understand your home and working environment.
- The allergy nurse will call to arrange an appointment for testing. The allergy testing will include an opportunity for questions and learning about your allergies and strategies for dealing with them. Expect the appointment to last about one hour.
- You will be asked to schedule a follow-up appointment with your medical care giver to discuss treatment options.
- If the treatment plan includes allergy injections (immunotherapy) for desensitization, you will need to return to one of our offices for weekly injections for several months. The frequency of injections and duration of treatment will be modified depending upon your response to the treatment. You will have periodic visits with your physician to review your progress.
I got allergy testing and shots to alleviate frequent sinus infections. Treatment was very easy and painless. I’m not getting sick and getting sinus infections every time my family gets a cold any more. I am very impressed & thankful that Dr. Godley got right to the source of my sinus problems and successfully treated them. ~Alison J. Murray
